-From 2010 to 2015, Dr. Hu mentored more than 40 undergraduate students for their senior design projects based on a smart home energy management testbed prototype designed by him at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Also, he published a paper about this experience on IEEE Trans. on Education titled “A smart home test bed for undergraduate education to bridge the curriculum gap from traditional power systems to modernized smart grids.” In 2014, he received a student mentor award from CURENT Power System Research Center. Also, he served as a guest lecturer for the course: “Power System Optimization Theory and Technology” (in English) at Southeast University, China. In 2016, he was lab assistant for “PID control of a robot via the feedback from motion capture system” at Harvard. In 2017, he was the teaching fellow for the course “Energy and Climate: Vision for the Future” at Harvard (Score 4.2/5). Besides, he also served as a teaching assistant for many undergraduate and graduate courses, including power system economics, power system steady-state analysis, power system transient analysis, circuits, etc. +
